Renaissance Direct is a group of senior level professionals focused on defining and implementing strategies that rapidly accelerate a qualified lead pipeline to drive revenue.  We're a mid-sized full-service integrated marketing agency with rich and proven heritage.  And, the fact is, we're different. Our genesis is direct, and as you'll come to understand, we're a force in the productive application of a constantly evolving strategic, creative, analytically founded, integrated marketing lineage.  One that we continue to innovate, and progress, to this day.

We're located in downtown Ipswich, Massachusetts (famous for its fried clams) with offices overlooking the Ipswich River.

The company's two principals, Bill Stone and J Tormey, met while working for Mullen Advertising's Direct Marketing Division. Tim Young, of Young Communications, a financial services strategist and senior writer is a longstanding alliance partner, as are Augie MacCurrach and his organization Customer Portfolios, in their capacity as marketing services technology collaborators.  More recently, Peter Pappas of 8Beacon, and Vernon Tirey of Customer Development Solutions have also joined ranks to flesh out the intellectual capital that helps our clients optimize their sales engines.

Bill founded Renaissance when he left Mullen in 1989, and is a 20 year veteran of direct marketing and marketing communications.  Throughout his career, Bill has worked with B2B and B2C organizations to help increase revenues while driving efficiencies in Sales, Marketing and the broader buying cycle to lower acquisition and retention costs.  Bill has proven skills in communications strategy, planning, positioning, messaging and other strategic initiatives.  In addition, Bill is adept at enabling organizations to better leverage new and existing technologies in their marketing endeavors.  Finally, he has spent considerable time with marketing teams executing sophisticated campaigns across multiple media. Bill has a BA from St. Lawrence University.

J began his career at Canton Advertising, the in-house agency for Hills Department Stores. This was followed by a stint at Bombaci + Mitchell Advertising in Wellesley Hills, MA (one of the earliest direct shops). J then moved on to Mullen where he became senior-writer-at-large for a variety of Direct Marketing, PR and General Advertising accounts. He left Mullen to join forces with Bill In 1993 (We might also mention that J went to MIT, started "The Pocket Mime Theatre", and actually mimed with Marcel Marceau...and his mother was a clown, Crinkles - who knew?)

Tim Young has demonstrated strengths in marketing financial services to retail and institutional investors and financial intermediaries. His 20-year marketing communications background encompasses investment management and research, mutual funds, annuities, retirement plans and alternative investments. He also has three years of experience as an buy-side equity REIT analyst. Before starting his independent marketing consulting practice in 2000, Tim held senior positions at Putnam, The Penobscot Group, and Aldrich Eastman Waltch.  In March 2008 Tim was recognized for producing a thought leadership white paper on 130/30 strategies that helped one of his clients win PR Week's Investor/Financial Communications Campaign of the Year. Tim has his B.A. from Harvard University.

Vernon Tirey specializes in driving multi-channel marketing best practices working with both marketing services firms and marketing practitioner organizations to aggressively grow their businesses. With over 20 years of experience running management consulting firms, direct marketing agencies and marketing services companies; Vernon is a multi-channel marketer with a proven track record for delivering practical results and rapid growth. Prior to aligning with Renaissance, Vernon was SVP of Solutions at Click Tactics, a best practices multi-channel marketing services firm providing a unique approach to highly relevant trigger-based mail and email marketing programs, Vernon was managing partner of Peppers & Rogers Consulting North America, thought leaders in the 1-to-1 marketing industry. He was also CEO and founder of DiaLogos, an enterprise-wide CRM consulting firm with over 100 consultants serving Fortune 500 companies. As a Partner at Lochridge & Co., he led the Customer Development Practice. And prior to consulting, Vernon spent 10 years in marketing services where he led database-marketing divisions for three marketing services companies. Vernon has a B.A. from University of Texas.

Driven largely by referrals, Renaissance has worked with many high profile clients while keeping a relatively low profile for itself. When Lotus, Wang, BayBank, Connected, insurance.com and Progress Software were still up and coming, Renaissance was coming up with creative ways to help build their business.

In fact, for over eighteen years many of New England's largest companies have been bringing some of their toughest pipeline development challenges to Renaissance. That includes some of the biggest -- and most demanding -- players in high-tech, financial services, security, manufacturing and healthcare. Integrated Marketers have to prove themselves every day.
